Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzales recently took the Virtual Counselor Network for a “test drive” at the Lewis Library in Fontana and was pleased with the results. The Virtual Counselor Network (VCN) is a new system for information and referrals that allows residents to use video conferencing for one-on-one, personalized assistance. Services include housing counseling, foreclosure prevention, budgeting and credit management, tax preparation services and more. San Bernardino County residents can have face-to-face counseling at VCN kiosks located at the Lewis Library in Fontana or the El Sol Education Center in San Bernardino. Each kiosk is equipped with internet access, telephone and a scanner so that users can talk with a counselor, and send or receive documents as needed.
